I’ve seen a lot of 60 Series Land Cruiser builds in my day, but I think this is one of the craziest ones I’ve ever seen. I mean…checkout those interior mods. The driver/passenger/dashboard area deserves to be called a cockpit. Yeah, an FJ60 cockpit 🙂
The engine in this thing is bonkers. It’s a Cummins 5.9L inline 6 cylinder turbo-diesel with a Industrial Injection PhatShaft 62/70 turbo that makes 320hp and 718 lb-ft of torque. That beast is connected to an NV4500 5-speed manual transmission and an Atlas 2 transfer case. All of that stuff spins a Dana 60 front axle and a Dana 80 rear axle.
The suspension is…um…custom. 3-link in the front and 4-link in the back with King coil-over shocks all the way around. There are lots more details about this monster FJ60, including a video of it doing a power slide. Head over to Four Wheeler Magazine to read more about this Doomsday Prepped 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60. And one last thing before you go…this FJ60 took two years and $200,000 to build!!!
